The Founder of Harbour Pointe Preparatory Academy is Mr. Greg Stickel, who is also serving as the school’s founding Principal. Mr. Stickel has 31 years of administrative experience in Ohio, South Carolina, and Florida. He has served as the founding principal of two charter schools in the Greater Jacksonville area. Both schools opened successfully and were high performing under his leadership.
Part of Mr. Stickel’s approach that leads to successful schools is his focus on hiring and retaining the best teachers in Jacksonville. For the 2024 to 2025 academic years, the school under his leadership experienced a 100% staff retention rate. Creating a safe and welcoming environment for educators allows the teachers to provide a supportive and positive learning environment to their students.
Another aspect of Mr. Stickel’s leadership is his focus on the whole child. This includes recognizing the important role the arts and athletics play in youth development. Mr. Stickel fosters a school culture that has high academic and behavior expectations and creates a community of educators whose purpose is to raise children–not test scores.
