Safety and Security
At Harbour Pointe Preparatory Academy, the safety and security of our students, staff, and community is our top priority. We rely on our families, staff, and students to help maintain a safe and secure environment by speaking up when something doesn’t seem right.
Safety and security are closely related, but they serve different purposes in protecting our school community. Safety focuses on preventing accidents and ensuring a healthy environment—things like fire drills, proper playground supervision, and maintaining clean facilities. Security, on the other hand, is about protecting against intentional threats, such as unauthorized access, bullying, or criminal activity. In simple terms, safety is about keeping everyone free from harm caused by hazards, while security is about safeguarding against risks posed by people or outside forces. Together, they create a comprehensive foundation of trust and peace of mind for students, families, and staff.
A Secure and Welcoming School is Possible
At Harbour Pointe Preparatory Academy, we believe that security should never come at the expense of warmth, joy, or a welcoming school environment. Families can rest assured that while students won’t encounter metal detectors, clear backpacks, or other measures that feel restrictive, our team is working diligently behind the scenes to keep everyone safe. Using modern technology and thoughtful planning, we create a secure campus that allows children to focus on learning, friendships, and growth—free from worry. Our approach ensures that safety is ever-present, but never intrusive, so that coming to school feels like stepping into a place of comfort, community, and possibility.
