Arrival & Dismissal
At Harbour Pointe Preparatory Academy, the safety of our students is our top priority. We have structured procedures for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal to ensure an orderly, efficient, and safe process for all students and families.
Morning Arrival
- Arrival Window: Students may arrive beginning at [insert time]. Classes begin promptly at [insert time].
- Carline Only: All students should be dropped off through the carline. For safety, parents may not park and walk students into the building unless directed by staff.
- Supervision: Staff members are on duty during arrival to assist students as they enter the building and move to their classrooms.
- Breakfast: Students who participate in the school breakfast program should go directly to the cafeteria upon arrival.
Afternoon Dismissal
- Dismissal Time: The school day ends at 3:00pm.
- Carline Procedures:
- Families will be assigned a carline number to display in the vehicle window.
- Staff will scan numbers to call students from classrooms to the carline.
- Please remain in your vehicle and follow the directions of staff for an efficient flow.
- Walkers/Bike Riders: Students who walk or bike home must have a signed permission form on file. Crossing guards (where assigned) and staff supervision help ensure safety.
Safety Reminders
- Do not use cell phones in the carline.
- Drive slowly and remain alert at all times.
- Follow the designated traffic pattern—no shortcuts or double-parking.
- Always use your assigned carline number for pick-up.
Early Dismissal & Late Arrival
- Early Dismissal: If you need to pick up your child before the end of the school day, please sign them out at the front office.
- Late Arrival: Students arriving after the start of the school day must be signed in at the front office before going to class.
